I’ve known Su in many capacities, as an up and coming bellydance student - we used to take classes together, as a fellow performer - we’ve shared the stage more than once, as a friend and most recently as a teacher - I being the student. She amazes me with her dedication to the dance and also with all she’s done for the bellydance community here in Chatham.
From hosting an amazing weekend workshop and show in 2007 to various performances throughout our community and others to gearing up for a fundraiser/show in May and much, much more.
I’ve been able to learn and preview some of her choreographies and can just say, “wow, what a creative mind”!
Congratulations Su, on securing a studio you and your students can call your own!

The new dance studio is so inspiring! The colours, the wall hangings, gives the feeling of being in another country, a different culture, the bellydance world. The energy the room gives to us as dancers, helps to make the space inviting, relaxing, and to have fun learning as women. The dances and choreographies that
SuSu is teaching are challenging to all
of us, yet we are having fun as a group. Many of us have made close
friendships, and have grown in so many ways through belly dancing. Dancing has given me the stress relief I so rarely found in any other exercise. Being a bellydancer has changed my life and my health for the better.
Thanks Susu for all your help and inspiration.
Love ya,
Your forever sister in dance,
Amanda

Chatham and the Windsor area are very lucky to have such a dynamic and devoted teacher as Susu Abdo. During my recent visit to her studio, I was constantly impressed by the incredible energy and dedication that she, her students, and her associates put into this art form. We are all richer because of it."

Oh my goodness! What a whirlwind this year has been since I started dancing! Susu welcomed me with open arms into a beautiful studio. We work hard each session but have a lot of fun.
I have a new appreciation for the inner workings of the human body and for what my own body can do. I have had the opportunity to use my body in a very womanly artform and would never have imagined that I would be dancing in a show as soon as May 2!
I have been constantly challenged with each new choreography but have fallen in love with each “ah ha” moment I have when I finally understand (or my body understands) something I’ve had difficulty with.
I spend time with some truly amazing women too. The bonding that has taken place is remarkable. I feel at ease when I am dancing with them.
Since starting to dance in the fall I have found a tremendous amount of stress relief, I have found passion, and I have felt more comfortable in my own skin than I have ever felt before. I seriously recommend it to all women!
Thank you Susu for your motivation and inspiration!
Love,
Jessie

I saw Susu's add in the paper and decided to try it. First time I walked through the studio doors Susu made me feel comfortable right then and there. I couldn't believe what my body could do. I thought 8 weeks would be too long but they go too fast and I keep on going back as I want to learn more and more. Susu is an awesome teacher and friend. Every class for me is a challenge but I always go back. All the ladies are very nice and you feel comfortable around them. I’m rediscovering my femininity. I still look at the troupe Abdo in admiration when they are dancing. I am still surprised to this day that I can do all those wonderful moves and like Susu always say to me. "I told you I was going to make a belly dancer out of you”. I did it.
Believe and you will achieve.
Thank you Sue

Hi Susu
I just wanted to thank you for allowing me the honour of dancing with you and your troupe! It was an amazing experience. Every one was so friendly and supportive and the energies were amazing. The amount of rehearsals we had made me feel at home on the stage so there was no frightening show time jitters. The performance was run with such professionalism that it could not have run smoother. You did an amazing job organizing and running the entire show and still finding time to do your own solo! I'm so very impressed and I really hope I get to dance with all of you again soon.
Big hugs
Conny

I began Belly Dancing 4 years ago with many teachers and also attending many workshops, my dancing skills and ability came to a stand still along with the drive to continue.
Being a male Belly Dancer I have run into many speed bumps along the way. I have been asked to leave classes as these were labeled ``women only`` In an enviroment that I was taught to be accepting and to promote self love and improve self esteem I was deeply hurt to think that I was not accepted for who I was. As a child and even being carried on into my adulthood I was always that person that just didn`t fit in, this being said, change was about to happen.
I ran into Susu a few years back at a workshop and her eyes lit up, little did I know she had so many idea`s and that one day I would be a part of her vision. I was asked to join Susu Abdo`s group in Chatham to prepare myself for one of their largest events, All I can say is WOW! Susu’s high demand of precision is unlike any I’ve experienced , she holds a professional style class while still making it fun -teaching technique and style, Susu creates not only a dance class but a relaxing and entertaining atmosphere. Susu`s ability to relate to each student`s individual needs in a truly positive way was far beyond anything I have experienced in the belly dance world. I was now back in the game. The already formed Troupe and her basic class welcomed myself with open arms, we all worked together to get me up to speed for the show. What an amazing experience! One that I have brought through into my everyday life.
I truly thank Susu and all her wonderful dancers for one of the greatest experiences of my life.
